Daniel Richardson of Northop Hall had a kidney transplant two years ago.  He became seriously ill last year and was in an induced coma for the last three months, suffering from pneumonia. Despite that, he recovered well enough to take part in several events at the British Transplant Games held from in August in Birmingham and achieved a gold medal in the indoor bowls competition.

Councillor Cunningham said:

“This is a tremendous achievement and it gives me great pleasure and pride to present Daniel with our Award during Organ Donation week.”

Daniel is pictured wearing his medal and receiving the Flintshire plaque from Flintshire County Council Chair Paul Cunningham and Consort, Mrs Joan Cunningham along with his mother Ann, brother Patrick and father Martin Richardson.
