Customer Involvement Strategy
Published: 14/12/2017
Flintshire County Council’s Cabinet will be asked to approve the Council’s
revised Customer Involvement Strategy and Action Plan 2018 – 2021 when it meets
on 19 December.
The proposed strategy relates to people who currently live in a Council-owned
property and have a tenancy with the Council, and others who live on
predominantly Council-owned estates.
Its aims are to develop effective and efficient housing services through the
involvement of tenants, leaseholders, staff, the wider community and other
stakeholders and to support those who want to challenge and influence service
delivery by developing methods and opportunities that meet the needs of
customers but also provide value for money.
These aims will allow the Council to focus on the current priorities set out by
Welsh Government for tenant participation under the two headings of “Tenant
Empowerment” and Training and Information”.
Flintshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Housing, Councillor Bernie
Attridge, said:
“Our Community and Enterprise teams have a strong history of delivering
successful customer involvement, however we are delivering housing and customer
services in a challenging external environment. It is important, therefore,
that the methods by which we engage with tenants and residents are both cost
effective and easy to access for all sections of the community. The strategy
and action plan place more emphasis on the use of social media and technology
to gain customer views and feedback alongside the more traditional methods of
face to face meetings and working with residents groups.”
