Flintshire schools celebrate GCSE results

Published: 24/08/2023

Students in Flintshire are celebrating today as they receive their GCSE results.

Councillor Mared Eastwood, Cabinet Member for Education, Welsh Language, Culture and Leisure said: "The Council is very proud of our year 11 pupils on their hard work to achieve the grades that they have received. I send them my warmest congratulations and wish them every success in their next steps. I would also like to express our thanks to all the staff in schools who have worked so hard to enable their students’ success and to all the parents and carers who have provided support and encouragement to their children.”

Chief Officer, Education and Youth, Claire Homard, said: “I would like to congratulate our learners who are receiving their results today. I also recognise the work of parents and carers in supporting and guiding their children and I thank them for working in partnership with our schools.

"Our schools have worked hard to ensure that our pupils are given every opportunity to succeed and I would like to thank them for all that they do. I know they will continue to provide support and advice for learners in making choices about future pathways and preparing for September. We do know that for some young people results days can be a difficult time, and I would encourage any young person who might be struggling, to ask for support.”
