County Hall car park closed for planning meeting

The Main Entrance car park outside County Hall in Mold will be closed on Wednesday September 27 to accommodate a meeting of the Planning Committee.

Flintshire County Council’s Planning Committee will meet to discuss an application for the use of a hotel and modular accommodation as an asylum accommodation and support hostel at Northop Hall Country House Hotel.

There will be several alternative arrangements on the day that the public need to be aware of.

County Hall will be closed for all business other than the Planning Committee meeting on September 27.

The Main Entrance car park to the front of the building will be closed and all vehicles will be directed to the tiered car park. Charges will be suspended for the day. Disabled parking will be adjacent to the main building and clearly signed. Please follow the signs that will be in place.

Members of the public are encouraged to watch the meeting online where it will be livestreamed. Limited seating is available in the Council Chamber and will be on a first come first served basis. Additional seating will also be provided in the Alyn and Deeside room where the meeting will be livestreamed.

Only those registered to give representations will be allowed to speak at the meeting.

There is strictly no filming or photography in the Council Chamber.

Andrew Farrow, Chief Officer (Planning, Environment & Economy) said: “There will be several alternative arrangements at County Hall on Wednesday to ensure that the Panning Committee meeting goes ahead safely and efficiently.

“We are aware that there is a lot of public interest in this planning application and we will try to accommodate as many members of the public as possible on site, but I strongly encourage people to watch the meeting online as there is limited space in the building.

“If you are attending, seating will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Please arrive with enough time to get seated as the meeting will start promptly at 1pm.”

The meeting will be livestreamed on the Flintshire County Council website and a copy of the footage from the meeting will be uploaded to the Council’s website shortly after.
