Review of Streetscene Standards
Published: 04/07/2019
The Environment Overview and Scrutiny Committee will be asked to note the current Streetscene service standards and consider the proposed additions when it meets next week.
A set of Streetscene standards were approved at the start of the new service in 2012. These formed the basis of the quarterly performance report. The updated 2019 Council Plan includes a new performance measure of Streetscene standards, under the Safe and Clean Council theme.
The standards have not been updated over the past 7 years, despite the department having evolved significantly during that time and, therefore, a review has been done to bring the standards up to date, ahead of the new performance monitoring process being introduced for 2019/20.
Flintshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Streetscene and Countryside, Councillor Carolyn Thomas, said:
“It’s appropriate to update our standards at this time to reflect the changes which have taken place in our Streetscene service over the past 7 years, some measures have been removed and we have added some to address the new Council Plan theme of Safe and Clean Council.”
