National Cycle route 568

A section of public footpath alongside the River Dee in Sealand, which forms part of National Cycle route 568, will be closed between the Blue Bridge and the link to Foxes Lane from Monday 2 March 2015. During this time, cyclists will have access to an alternative route via Welsh Road, Foxes Lane under the A494 and the cycle track parallel with this road; pedestrians will have access to an alternative via the A494. Both routes will be clearly signed. The closure is the second phase of the earth flood defence strengthening works for the Northern Gateway Site Development. The work is being carried out by contractors VolkaStevin on behalf of the Welsh Government. The second phase of the work will take approximately two months to complete. Councillor Bernie Attridge, Cabinet Member for Environment and Deputy Leader said: The closure is essential to enable the work to take place. We apologise for any inconvenience this closure may cause, but hope that the alternative routes will help to minimise this inconvenience.
