General Election 7 May: make sure you can vote
Published: 19/03/2015
A national advertising campaign is underway to encourage voter registration
ahead of the General Election and Flintshire County Council is encouraging
local people to visit www.gov.uk/register-to-vote
On Thursday, 7 May voters will go to the polls to elect Members of Parliament
for the two parliamentary constituencies in Flintshire, Delyn and Alyn and
Deeside.
The Electoral Commission launched its national voter registration campaign
earlier this week to remind people to register by April 20. The television
advert can be seen here.
Colin Everett, Returning Officer said,
“Anyone not yet registered to vote should do so as soon as possible, otherwise
they will miss the opportunity to vote in the coming General Election.
You can’t vote, if you aren’t registered by 20 April. We encourage those who
have not registered to do so on-line at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote - it only
takes a few minutes - and for anyone who is in any doubt as to whether they are
registered to contact our Elections Office on 01352 702412
