Deeside Industrial Park Business Forum is set to continue
Published: 26/03/2015
Flintshire County Council will continue with its Business Forum model,
following the completion of the Strategic Business Parks project.
The meeting of the Deeside Industrial Park Business Forum, which has been part
of the North East Wales Strategic Business Parks Project, was held recently,
and attracted over sixty attendees to Days Hotel, Chester North.
The Project has been supported by European Regional Development funds through
the Welsh European Funding Office since 2009, and the project, and its funding,
finishes on 31 March 2015.
At the meeting, Forum President, the Rt Hon Lord Barry Jones highlighted the
significance of manufacturing at Deeside, and congratulated the Forum on its
tremendous success in promoting the area, as well as the commitment and
achievements of the County Council and its employees who have worked on the
project over the last five years.
Councillor Derek Butler, Cabinet Member for Economic Development at Flintshire
County Council, said:
Flintshire County Council’s Business Development Team is now keen for the
Forum to continue its success and expand into a broader East Flintshire
Business Forum, to take in Sandycroft and the surrounding area too. In
addition, we are working towards developing a similar Forum in the West of the
county. Whilst Welsh Government funding is no longer available, the intention
is to work with local businesses and stakeholders to establish a Forum which
they could then run with County Council support. Anyone who is interested in
finding out more can contact the Team on 01352 703219 .
