North East Wales (NEW) Homes Ltd is pleased to announce that the repairs and maintenance contract has been awarded to For You Property Services (FYPS), following a competitive tendering exercise.  

NEW Homes is a private company set up by Flintshire County Council to provide affordable homes for rent and FYPS is a social enterprise and the commercial wing of Care and Repair North East Wales which provides community support services to vulnerable people.

An ambitious growth plan for NEW Homes to build more new affordable homes is underway and the time is right to make sure arrangements are in place for repairs and maintenance of the existing and new properties. 

As a newly established organisation, FYPS welcomes this new contract and looks forward to working with NEW Homes. FYPS employs a small team and when specialist work is required such as gas safety checks, local sub-contractors are used which helps to generate local community benefits such as local employment and local spend. 

Paul Humphries, Chair of NEW Homes Board said:

“We are pleased to appoint FYPS to provide a repairs and maintenance service to our NEW Homes properties.  This is an important step for the company and sets the foundations for a strong partnership with a locally focussed social enterprise which has the potential to grow alongside New Homes.”
