Flintshire welcomes highways funding

Following a successful bid to Welsh Government, Flintshire County Council is delighted to announce that £1.4 million pounds of funding has been secured for transport related schemes to be implemented within this financial year. Among the planned improvements are a complete refurbishment of the traffic signals at the A548 Sealand Road / Seahill Road Junction, the introduction of a fixed speed camera on the A541 Pontblyddyn dual carriageway (Mold bound), enhancements to the existing carriageway markings, signing and surfacing to three roundabouts within the extents of the A548 Deeside Industrial Park Zones 2, 3 and 4 and the implementation of a footpath facility serving Argoed High School in Mynydd Isa. The funding comes as part of an annual bid submission to Welsh Government following the assessment and prioritisation of all sites within the County. Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Environment, Councillor Bernie Attridge said; ‘’The programmed improvements will go a long way in achieving the targets set by Welsh Government for the reduction of casualties on the Flintshire road network. The proposals will deliver much needed safety improvements benefitting the most vulnerable of users.
