Published: 29/10/2015
Flintshire Record Office has released four new colour prints for sale in time
for Christmas.
The prints, taken from images in the archives collection, include line
engravings of Northop Church and Overton Church near Wrexham from 1831,
Rhuddlan Castle in 1830 and a 17th century colour map of Denbigh and Flintshire
in Latin and Welsh, showing woods, rivers, parks and Offa’s Dyke.
Principal Archivist, Claire Harrington, said: “We’re delighted to release these
for sale to the public. They are high quality prints, which have remained true
to the original and would make a lovely Christmas present.”
The prints cost £5 for an A4 size and £20 for a larger A3. All four can be
viewed on the Record Office flickr page

foyer of the Record Office in Hawarden.
Cllr Chris Bithell, Lead Member for Education said:
“Staff at The Record Office have once again shown their entrepreneurial streak
and produced four stunning prints that are unusual and I’m sure will appeal to
many people especially those with an interest in the history of the local area.”
The Record Office are now working on producing a set of Victorian Christmas
cards that will be released for sale next month.
