It’s July Jamboree time!

The Flintshire Welsh Advisory Team held their four day musical Jamboree for
Year 1 and 2 children again recently.
Around 2,500 Flintshire children attended over the four days and the popular
S4C presenter and entertainer Martyn Geraint was commissioned to stage eight
performances.
The Jamboree was held at Connah’s Quay Civic Hall, and the team would like to
thank the Town Council for their continued support.
Preparations started early in June, with the children busy learning songs so
that they could sing along in Welsh with Martyn Geraint. All schools received
a CD of the songs.
Martyn Geraint has built up a reputation as one of Wales’ foremost entertainers
with a natural ability to inspire children.
Flintshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Education, Councillor Chris
Bithell, said:
This event is always a great opportunity to have some fun while enhancing the
children’s language skills. Using music as a learning tool is a really
positive experience for the children and adds an additional dimension to their
Welsh language lessons.”
