No roadworks on the Councils main roads over holiday season
Published: 16/11/2016
Flintshire County Council will once again do everything in its power to ensure
that Flintshire’s road network runs effectively and without major delays during
the holiday season.
In order to achieve this, an embargo on all non-emergency work will run from
Friday 2 December until Tuesday 3 January 2017 and will affect all major routes
in the county as well as town centres.
Flintshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for the Environment, Councillor
Bernie Attridge, said:
“Because there is always a substantial increase in traffic during the holiday
period, we have once again taken the decision to suspend all roadworks on the
main routes to avoid increased congestion in and around our towns. We are
working closely with utility companies to ensure works are completed before the
embargo however any major schemes not completed by 2 December, will be
suspended until 3 January 2017.”
