It’s July Jamboree time!

The Flintshire Welsh Advisory Team held their four day musical Jamboree for
Year 1 and 2 children again recently.
Around 2,500 Flintshire children attended over the four days and the popular
S4C presenter and entertainer Martyn Geraint was commissioned to stage eight
performances.
The Jamboree was held at Connah’s Quay Civic Hall and the team would like to
thank the Town Council for their continued support.
Preparations started early in June, with the children busy learning songs so
that they could sing along in Welsh with Martyn Geraint. All schools received
a CD of the songs.
Martyn Geraint has built up a reputation as one of Wales’ foremost entertainers
with a natural ability to inspire children.
Flintshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Education and Youth, Councillor
Ian Roberts, said:
“As well as being a fun, the Jamboree helps enhance pupils’ bilingual skills
and provides an additional dimension to Welsh language lessons by offering a
positive learning experience through music.”
