Changes to Pension Credit

From 15 May 2019, pensioners will no longer be able to apply for Pension Credit if their partner is of working age. A claim for Universal Credit will need to be made until their partner reaches State Pension age. These changes affect couples where one person was over pensionable age as at 6 February 2019 and the other was below pensionable age.Claims for Pension Credit made before 15 May 2019 are not affected by these changes (unless a change in circumstances means that you no longer qualify for Pension Credit).
