Garden of Remembrance
Within the Cemeteries at Hawarden and Kelsterton, Connah's Quay, Flintshire County Council have constructed their first Gardens of Remembrance.
The Gardens provides an attractive feature where visitors to both Cemeteries can go and spend some time in a quiet, peaceful, relaxing area whilst being close to or remembering their loved ones. Both intuitive designs allow for a certain amount of privacy and solitude for visitors.
Families can also purchase marble remembrance plaques from the Bereavement Services Office to be placed on these walls. The Garden has areas within its centre and also around its perimeter that are sympathetically and tastefully planted with a mix of native shrubs and trees and seasonal bedding plants to provide a splash of colour throughout the year.
Memorial marble plaques can be purchased and placed on the wall or a space reserved to place a plaque on at a later date. Plaques can be placed on the wall in memory of anyone, not just those buried within either Cemetery.
