Case Study
Lisha was 19, living in Flintshire and unemployed for over two years. She was referred to Communities for Work and allocated a mentor. Lisha had limited previous work experience and her confidence was low and she did not feel comfortable going out of her local area
Her mentor worked with Lisha to improve her confidence and prepare her for applying for work opportunities. In August Sainsbury’s had a recruitment drive for cleaning operatives in the area. Lisha successful gained employment after support from her mentor with interview skills and collating the appropriate I.D.
Lisha has recently been promoted to Site Manager and is now working full time and is looking for her own home. Lisha said “it’s going great. I love getting up for work in the morning and putting my uniform on, and I have also made new friends”
Lisha’s mentor said despite having low skills, no transport and very little work experience it is very rewarding to see how well Lisha is doing now. It has made a real difference to her life. She has done amazingly well and should be proud of herself.
