Flintshire residents can access two services that provide transport to medical appointments including:
- dentists
- doctors
- Glan Clwyd, Wrexham Maelor and Countess of Chester Hospitals
Welsh Border Community Transport
These services are available at a reduced cost.

Flintshire Ring and Ride Service
This is a door-to-door service, for people who are unable to use public transport.
The service will assist in travelling to:
- GP appointments
- hospital appointments
- other health-related appointments.
You must give at least 24 hours' notice when booking a journey. We try to accommodate journeys at shorter notice.
At initial registration, members will also be required to answer the following questions to meet the criteria to use the service:
- Where do you live?
- Where are you wanting to travel to?
- What is the purpose of the journey?
- Is this the first time you have had to make this journey?
- Do you have a car or access to a car?
- Are you able to use bus services?
- If you are going to a hospital for an appointment, might you be eligible to use the Welsh Ambulance Service Patient Transport Service?

Fees
The service is open to members only, with an annual subscription fee of £10.
You can pay by telephone or by cheque made payable to Flintshire County Council.
Each journey is then charged at 45p per mile.
